June 2024 Monthly Wrapup
It's the second monthly wrapup! Here's what I did in June.
RELEASES:
- May 2024 Monthly Wrapup released June 2nd in article form. It's this, but for last month.
- Pictobits Normal Levels in 19:36 released June 3rd in video form. I wanted to speedrun an Art Style game that isn't Base 10, so this is the other one I'm quite familiar with. I cut the previous record on speedrun.com in half.
OTHER PROJECT EFFORTS:
- I wrote some Plant Review scripts. It's coming along quite nicely, I really like the tone I'm hitting so far.
- I started some sort of project based on the new DDR rank system. Not sure what it'll end up being, probably a video.
NON-PROJECT EFFORTS:
- I went to Washington DC! It was purely a family trip, but it was nice to see the extended family again, and I forgot how nice the area was.
- I also immediately learned that as I grow older, I am now affected by seasonal allergies. That's a fun and enjoyable fact.
- Still continuing the dance game grind. I reached top 400 in StepManiaX, then switched to DanceDanceRevolution once the new version came out. I really like the new ranking system and the whole flare gauge thing. Since you can balance how hard the lifebar is to your skills, it makes every song feel like a challenge to clear.
- And for gaming in general, I finally got to Astro Duel 2's singleplayer mode, which is also fantastic. Astro Duel II was the big PAX East 2024 hit for me as it's an insanely fun party/fighting game and there were always other players to play against at the stand, but the singleplayer turns it into a speedrun type arcade game that works quite well.
- I also picked up Puzzles and Dragons for a bit to help with brainstorming on a game design project a friend brought up to me. It took way too much of my time for about a week and I haven't touched it again.
- And sneaking right into the end of the month, on the very last day of June I played Islands of Insight for seven entire hours within a single day, an amount of gaming-in-one-sitting I haven't done in perhaps years.
- Still working, still working out. Life keeps going.
I'm not doing the "AM I SATISFIED" segment because I don't want to, and that's not the point of this anyhow. That's it! See you next month!
